With heavy heart I decided to list my factory Enkei hollow spoke Miata wheels, along with a Marshall tube amp and Yamaha saxophone. Some of the responses I’ve gotten so far... Maybe I SHOULD have put “no lowballing.”
Some guy offered to take JUST the tires, for free of course.
Another dude offered half my price for the wheels stating “thos arent hollow spokes you can tel because of the lines”. Wrong.
And my personal favorite was “I know it’s low, but if you decide to, I’ll buy them for $40.” Yeah man, I’ll be sure to remember that. For reference, sets in slightly better condition than mine generally go for 250-400 on turbomiata and miata.net classifieds.
Sidenote: remote controlled Ferrari is a drifting champ on cleaned laminate wood flooring.
The Marshall (JCM 2000 TSL 122, a 100 watt 2x12 full tube combo amp) is being sold because it’s way too much amp for a condo, even with a built in power attenuator. Even so this was so difficult for me to list, as it was my first high quality amp and it sounds glorious. I temporarily removed the ad after the 3rd “will trade squire starter kit” response. Ugh
I’ve scored tons of great deals buying off Craigslist but selling things has been awful every time I’ve tried. Any tips?
Wheel listing for reference

Which Blackstar is that? HT40?

HT5 actually! I was looking for one of the 1watt ones so I could really crank it, but found a solid deal on this (plus the lack of effects loop was a big drawback for the HT1)

I’ll give this a star in exchange for the wheels.

7 spoke wheels... 4 wheels... 7x4=28... 28 spokes total... 5 spokes in a star... 28/5=5.6... No deal.
I want 6 stars. I know what I have

the 3rd “will trade squire starter kit”
“I want to trade down from my Marshall to a Squier starter kit” said no one, ever. I’m just shaking my head here. I mean, I assume these fuckheads have been in a guitar center once or twice, as that is where one gets a Squier starter kit - did they miss the whole MARSHALL AMP WHICH COSTS AS MUCH AS FOUR SQUIER KITS thing?

My experience selling on craigslist has been that if something is going to sell, it will sell either very, very quickly or not at all. I gotten the lowball text offers either way, so I don’t count them.

Right? Music gear is one of the few things I’m generally somewhat excited to see trade offers for but come on.... Do these people actually believe that there are any circumstances in which someone would agree to a swap like that?

Hmm. Well I posted half an hour ago so I guess I still have a shot. I’d love to keep the wheels but they don’t clear my brakes

“Guy with really nice amp who probably has a nice guitar as well is selling the amp” = “HE MUST BE A GUITAR BEGINNER!” Yeah... no. Just no, guys. That is not how this works.

How do you like it? I’ve been wanting to get a small tube amp for playing in the bedroom.

I’ll give you a broken Xbox 360 and a half eaten box of crackers for the wheels.

Yes. when the Bass player needs more crack badly. or is so strung out that he is babbling like a lunatic.

I’m a huge fan. Two years ago I tested most 5watt or less tube amps on the market from Fender, Marshall, Vox, Orange, Laney and a few boutique brands with a price cap at $500. The Blackstar was by far my favorite. It’s actually the ht-5r, with digital reverb. If you want something primarily for clean playing, there’s probably better options, but the Blackstar has a good clean channel and a fantastic dirty channel (definitely usable for metal if that’s your thing). Not to mention a really good combo of simple controls that can still vastly change the tone.

If I show up and you have a broken cracker box and a half eaten Xbox 360 no deal

I typically way over price so the low ball guy and I can meet in the middle at what I actually want for my thing. Seems to do a good job of keeping away time wasters and things seem to sell just as quickly

Sorry bro, I’d buy the JCM2000 for a fair price if you were anywhere near me. I’ve actually been looking for one. :(. Hang in there. Sometimes I get a response 3+ weeks after listing. CL is weird that way.

How about a Gibson SG Special with custom carbon fiber pickguard, truss rod cover, and purple electronics cover for the Marshall? OK I’m not actually serious because I don’t want to ship it, but is that trade offer even close? I never play the damn thing anymore.

Yeah shipping would bad for both but yeah I’d take the trade if you were local. I was a Gibson (Les Paul in particular) hater until a friend let me borrow his Les Paul for a few months... That was years ago. Would love to try an SG

The best way to explain an SG is a Les Paul in a thinner body. The neck and spacing are all the same. I prefer the Fender necks personally.

Hmm. Between an old Japanese Ibanez and an American BC Rich Mockingbird I’m so used to super long scale 24 fret necks that Fenders and Gibson take some getting used to.
Also, the carbonfiber Pick guard sounds interesting

It’s home made. I like the overall look but it’s rough around the edges. I’ve learned some thingssince I made it and would do it differently the next time.

Hey I’m local to Kirkland if I needed Miata Wheels Id pick those up. they look just fine for the money. stick to your price! you’ll find the right buyer.
Any chance you have any 225 45 18 tires or similar size laying around for my g35? ? Trying to avoid buying new as 3 of my cars are having issues this week and may need cash to fix something.

I’m imagining these wheels on your Infiniti... Yeah not a great look haha
No other tires, although that’s surprisingly close to the tire size I run on my Miata currently.
